The Special Needs Soccer Association is set to begin their Spring season on March 29th and the schedule is attached. We are in need of volunteers and I am asking for your help.

We try to get volunteers who are in eighth grade and older because some of our players are challenging and it is too much responsibility for younger volunteers. However, in the past we have had younger teams come out with their parents to “play” with our kids.

We ask the volunteers to arrive about 8:30 a.m. to help set up and greet the players. They are then assigned as a “buddy” to work with one of our special players for the hour long session from 9-10. They would be finished shortly after 10:00. Note we start an hour later on May 17th which is the last day of our Spring session. We do have coaches on the field to give directions and assistance as needed.

I know this would be a memorable experience for you and your players to volunteer with this great program. I hope your schedules will allow you to come out on one of the Saturdays to help. As of today, I am good on volunteers for March 29th and May 3rd. I am still waiting to hear how many volunteers we will have from Mehlville on April 5th when we are playing at Mehlville High School. All other Saturdays we play at the Soccer Park in Fenton. I need help on all the other Saturdays especially May 17th.

Many thanks to all of you who have helped in the past and I look forward to meeting the other teams also. I look forward to hearing from you and please let me know if you have any questions. If you are unable to come out as a team, we welcome individual volunteers also so please pass the word to your players.

Gratefully,
Shirley McBroom
